Nothing False

John 7:18 “Whoever speaks on his own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.”

Why is a man who works for the honor of the one who sent him considered a man of truth? Why is there nothing false about him? It is because he does not seek his own purposes, his own glory, his own honor. He is free to do the will of his sender without corrupting his work with selfish advantage for himself. He will not bend or shade the truth to gain something for himself or to avoid some risk.

Father, please make me more like Jesus in the way that he perfectly obeyed your will and perfectly gave you honor. I want to be a man of truth with nothing false about my work or my life.
