Proverbs 16:20 “Whoever gives thought to the Word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.”
God has good things to teach me in his Word, intended for my benefit. But that means I must read and study and think about and obey his Word. God’s Word thoroughly equips me (2 Timothy 3:17). It is to my peril if I fail to read it. It should be like eating food – not something that I easily neglect for days on end. I desperately need God’s guidance and wisdom every day.
Father, thank you for giving human beings a written form of your communication. I treasure your words more and more as I read and re-read them. Please help me continue to discover good, and to receive your blessings as I explore truth and obey and trust you.
