What Am I Seeking?

1 Corinthians 10:33b “For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.”

What am I seeking? This passage is clear: If I seek selfish ends, I hinder my effectiveness in bringing others to Christ. Yet if I stop focusing on myself and my wants, then I am free to seek the good of others. This is indeed running “in such a way as to get the prize.” (1 Cor. 9:24b). “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.” (Prov. 11:30)

Father, please help me focus on your purposes today regarding the people you have placed around me. If I am hindering your work because of seeking my own good at the expense of others then please show me and redirect me.
