Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
What is the hindrance right now that I need to throw off? Or the sin that is entangling me? I must never feel as if I’ve “arrived” and think I no longer need to be alert and vigilant. I can so easily distort God’s blessings into opportunities for pride or neglecting other areas he’s called me to serve so that life shrinks to just my job and trying to be a “success” in the eyes of others.
Father, please protect me from the temptation to find significance outside of you. Thank you for your Word which keeps me grounded in truth and dependent upon you. Please continue to use me in the lives of others for their good and for your glory.
