Proverbs 11:25 “An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.”
Kindnesses are scarce among the aggressive, ambitious, and “successful.” In fact, their behaviors in the office and in social settings are often a cause for anxiety in others. So what does a mature Christian do? He pauses from his busyness and his own concerns to see another who is weighed down, and then says something very rare: a kind word to lift up and give hope. And, like the Good Samaritan, he goes far beyond words – he takes action to help.
Father, use me today to speak and act with kindness, helping this broken world know you are the Healer.
