Proverbs 16:9 “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”
What goals and aspirations am I setting my heart on today? The only plans that really matter are plans shaped, guided, and empowered by God. All other plans trail off into a bog of unfulfillment and dissatisfaction. God invites me into his purposes to participate in something much bigger than myself. He has given me and those around me gifts and abilities for eternal impact, not to squander on selfish pursuits. And even with those gifts he has given, God wants me stay close to him, to continually seek him and depend on him.
Father, I don’t ask that you bless my plans but that you give me the wisdom and courage to follow your plans – today and every day.
