Reminders

Titus 3:1-2 “Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.”

Christians honor God by obeying authorities, by doing good, by refraining from speaking evil of others, by acting as peacemakers, and by taking the path of humility instead of self-promotion. These attitudes and behaviors are the products of consistent discipline empowered by God’s Holy Spirit. When dealing with difficult, self-centered, combative people, I must remember where I came from: “We were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.” (Titus 3:3). That I once was. But praise be to God, he rescued me and gave me true life.

Father, use me today as a channel of your grace, kindness, peace, and mercy. In my interactions at work, I want to always remember who I once was before you came into my life. Please bring a revolution of your rescuing mercy throughout the world where so many people are still lost and blind and stuck in Titus 3:3.
