1 John 2:5-6 “If anyone obeys his Word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.”
Obedience and God’s love are inseparable. Jesus listened to and obeyed the Father. In the same way, if I want to know Jesus and experience his love and live a purposeful life that matters for eternity, I must know the Bible and obey its teachings. It starts with reading and studying Scripture to gain basic biblical literacy and continues into obeying God in his general teachings and in the specific ways he uniquely leads me as an individual.
Father, please make your love complete in me. I want to know your Word more deeply today and to obey you, loving my family, serving you at work, following your guidance wherever you lead.
