Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.”
What is this hollow and deceptive philosophy that makes people its prisoners? Though it takes many forms, its essence is about living as if God does not exist or does not matter. In the West, the philosophy is humanism: mankind exalted, human institutions and governments mushrooming into modern forms of the Tower of Babel, and solutions to the world’s problems making things worse, not better. Ignoring God has consequences.
Father, please fill this earth with truth from end to end. Penetrate the hollow and deceptive philosophies that enslave and imprison so many human beings. Please use me and all who are your followers to communicate your offer of rescue, healing, and hope through faith in Jesus Christ.
