Proverbs 27:18 “He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who looks after his master will be honored.”
The message is simple: do your job and deliver for your boss. If done correctly (not making an idol of work or of the boss), these two things bring income and honor. And they are ways to please God in the workplace. He wants me to pursue excellence in my work.
Father, thank you for the clarity and practicality of this proverb. Please show me today how I must tend to the work you’ve given me. And please show me how to best look after and serve my boss, not to elevate myself but to glorify you.
