Conceit and People Blindness

Romans 12:16b “Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.”

This flies in the face of status climbing and associating with the “right people”, of scanning the room for who’s “important” and ignoring everyone else. Pride and conceit block me from God’s purposes, preventing me from seeing and interacting with people he has called me to love.

Father, please show me where self-importance has blinded me to certain people. Open my eyes. I want you to be pleased in the way I interact with others today.
