Good Ambition

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work … so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders.”

This advice from the apostle Paul is the opposite of trying to achieve fame or gain status. Instead, I am to direct my ambition to humbly and faithfully take care of business. Doing that will, ironically, win respect from a world which seems to mostly prize huge egos.

Father, use me today in quiet ways in my workplace. May the quality and integrity of my work glorify you. Please make the ideas you’ve given me produce results that succeed in the marketplace, thereby benefiting employees and investors because of your favor.
