Your Boss

Romans 13:1 “Submit … to the governing authorities.”

This verse instructs Christians to submit to governing authorities because God has established them – not because they are necessarily qualified or worthy or honest or easy to submit to. My boss is my governing authority at work. I must submit to my boss’s authority wherever that authority does not violate God’s directives. God put me where he put me and there is certainly something he wants to teach me through this particular boss at this particular time.

Father, you know my tendency to question certain types of authority, especially if a person’s decisions seem illogical or poorly conceived or lacking integrity. Please remind me today to submit to my bosses – and to know what that means in each situation. May you accomplish your purposes in and through me today. Amen.
