Growing Strong by Destroying Others

Psalm 52:7 “Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others.”

The man who trusts in his wealth and destroys others to gain more is all too common in business, politics, and anywhere else where “success” is defined by money and power. But stories in the news and stacks of biographies repeatedly show that such men live lives that are empty, unfulfilled, lonely, and lost. They leave a trail of broken relationships in their wake. In the end, what have they gained?

Father, please wake those who are lost in the dream of wealth and power for themselves. They are racing down a path to their own destruction. Please use me to help change the trajectory of such lives so that you are glorified and people are healed and restored, not destroyed.
