Psalm 139:1 “O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.”
Psalm 139:5 “You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.”
Psalm 139:10 “Your hand will guide me and your strength will support me.”
Psalm 139:17a “How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.”
This is utterly astonishing and beyond comprehension: The Creator of the Universe loves me, takes interest in me, and cares for me in the most minute detail. He knows my thoughts, fears, and hopes. He knows what this day contains though I do not. With this understanding – not of the future but of God’s character – what other response can I have but to trust him and depend on his loving guidance moment by moment?
Father, you are all-knowing and all-powerful, ever-present in my life. I know you will guide me and support me today. I must depend on that and let it sink into every fiber of my being, its truth invading every thought.
