Work vs. Fantasy

Proverbs 28:19 “He who works his land will have abundant food, but the one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.”

In most cases, abundance results from steady applied effort rather than sudden breakthrough. But where to apply that steady effort? I must work my “land”, the job God has given me at this time. It’s good to dream, but my dreams (which may or may not lead to future direction) must never get in the way of working diligently on what God has given me to do today.

Father, you know my thoughts and every detail of my life. You surround me and have your hand on me. You made a plan for every day of my life even before I was born (Psalm 139). These truths are indeed beyond my comprehension. Please guide me in the land where you have prepared me to work today.
