1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.”
These are solid, unambiguous instructions for living the Christian life. Temptations, distractions, and selfish pursuits continuously get in the way of seeking God and being fruitful. I must be vigilant to inspect my own motives, pursuits, and speech for evidence of these things, guarding against them and never growing complacent in the faith. God will supply the courage and strength and love. Love is the motive and method and attitude of the Christian.
Father, please fill me with your love today so that everything I do will be for your glory. Let my work reflect your excellence and never be about me. I joyfully submit to your call to wherever and to whomever you send me.
