1 Timothy 4:12b “Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
A sign of Christian maturity is to set a positive example for others to follow. My example cannot be limited to just one area. For example, if I faithfully tithe but also carry a reputation for trampling others as I climb the ladder at work, I’m failing my Savior. A mature believer follows and obeys Jesus Christ in all things. This will exhibit itself in my speech, how I approach my work, the atmosphere I bring into my home, how I treat others, how I depend on God, and the purity of my thoughts and actions.
Father, thank you for the clarity of your Word, instructing me in how to live, and for your Holy Spirit who empowers me to obey your Word. I yield to your instruction today and offer myself for your purposes. Please fill me with your Spirit and make me an example to others of a life well lived, a life set on your purposes.
