Be Very Careful

Ephesians 5:15-16 “Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

The days are indeed evil. This was true in the time of the early church and it is true today. Satan has not let up on persecuting Christians, causing death and mayhem, slaughtering the innocents, inciting disobedience and outright rebellion toward God, destroying families, and enslaving souls. Living wisely means making careful choices and weighing everything by the teaching of the Bible. It means being wide awake and in the light (Eph. 5:14). It means listening and watching for opportunities to serve, share my faith, and honor God, obediently taking action in the power of Christ. It means being very careful to live for what really matters.

Father, please use me today as a light. Make me radiate your grace and wisdom toward the people around me. And please protect your followers in lands where they face persecution and suffer horribly for their faith in Christ. Deliver them and bring even their tormentors to the foot of the Cross to receive grace, forgiveness, and salvation.
