Matthew 6:21; Luke 12:34 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
What do I treasure? What do I focus on with desire? What do I seek to protect and preserve? My heart follows what I treasure; this is human nature. So it is vital that I treasure the right things, those which matter to God, those which further his Kingdom, those which bring life – to others as well as to myself.
Father, please guide me in your paths today. Please let me pursue things that have eternal value. Set my heart on your glory rather than on selfish, transient, and ultimately worthless pursuits. In particular, I need your wisdom at work. Prevent me from making it about me. Stop me from elevating myself. Thank you that you are with me every moment of the day.
