John 12:26 “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.”
Seek honor from God, not from the world. This comes from following Jesus wherever he leads and serving in any way he desires. It means the world will probably dishonor me because I no longer seek its approval. God has given me entirely different priorities. “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” (12:24).
Father, I give you this day that I might honor Jesus Christ. Please make me fruitful in eternal things, serving you, following you, dying to self. Please protect me and my loved ones from the many traps of the evil one. Fill us with wisdom and courage and love. All the glory is yours.
