Good Medicine

Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine.”

This has been proven time and again in modern health studies: the overstressed, the anxious, and the gloomy among us suffer physically from hypertension, heart disease, and even a greater tendency toward the onset of cancer. But God wants us to have joy. We find joy by delighting in him (Psalm 37:4), trusting in him, and living peacefully with our families, neighbors, and co-workers. I have seen this in my own life when I walk daily with God in gratitude, obedience, and dependence.

Father, please fill me with your joy today. Let it bring health to myself, my family, and those I work with. I commit my ways to you. I trust in you and rest in you today.
